Post-war
In the 1950s the Sunday School in Leigh was run during the decade by Nora Mills, who rewarded attendance with stickers, bookmarks and cards, and presented the children with crosses at Easter. The cross preserved in the document linked below carries a handwritten inscription on its back: “To Sandra, from N. Mills. Easter 1959. With Love”.
Those keepsakes were later passed to the village’s local history archive by Sandra Nicholls, and the Sunday School record itself survives as a document reproduced here.
